At Deepinsight, we’ve received a fantastic early Christmas gift this year – five new colleagues who are already bringing good energy, knowledge, and enthusiasm to the company. These talented new hires share our passion for making a difference in healthcare. Together, we will work towards our important mission: supporting hospitals with smarter management and planning of resources using AI. The goal? Shorter waiting lists and better patient care for those who need it most.

We look forward to achieving great results together with our new Deeps. Read below to get to know them better.

Jarle Kittelsen, Senior Security Engineer

As a Senior Security Engineer, Jarle will be responsible for ensuring that Deepinsight adheres to the high-security standards required for a company operating in the healthcare sector. He will drive continuous improvements in security measures related to technology, people, and processes, helping to maintain the trust Deepinsight enjoys in the eHealth market.

Jarle holds a bachelor's degree in Telematics from the Norwegian Defence Engineering Academy, specializing in Information Security, and is trained as an officer in the Norwegian Armed Forces. He also earned a master's degree in Information Security from NTNU Gjøvik with a technological focus. His career began with ten years as a security analyst in the Norwegian Cyber Force, followed by five years in cybersecurity for another governmental entity. Later, he transitioned to the private sector as a security engineer at the online grocer Oda for over three years before joining Deepinsight.

Jarle chose to join Deepinsight because he was impressed by the company's high ambitions and dedication to healthcare."Working with security in a SaaS company aiming to disrupt the software market in the healthcare sector is an exciting challenge. Combined with the company’s inspiring mission to improve healthcare and a talented, welcoming team, the decision was easy."

In his free time, Jarle enjoys spending quality time with his family, including his wife and two children. He loves activities such as hiking, downhill skiing, movie nights, and gaming. A fun fact is that he holds the rank of Captain in the Norwegian Army and coaches his son’s soccer team, even though he has no interest in soccer beyond the team itself.

Raaisa, Senior Data Scientist

Raaisa holds a master’s degree in Mathematics and Computing from IIT Delhi and spent two years conducting hands-on experiments at Yale School of Medicine. Throughout her career, she has analyzed diverse datasets, including mass spectrometry data, life sciences texts, and videos of birds flying across turbines.

As a Machine Learning Engineer, Raaisa will focus on enhancing the Deepinsight platform by integrating machine learning and deep learning where appropriate. She aims to prioritize user needs, simplifying their experience while optimizing resource utilization for hospitals and patients.

Raaisa chose to join Deepinsight because the company offers her the chance to collaborate with talented individuals, embrace valuable opportunities for growth, and contribute to something that directly impacts people’s lives."Deepinsight is a place where I can grow, learn, and be part of creating something truly meaningful."

In her spare time, Raaisa loves visiting and exploring different cafes, even though she doesn’t consider herself a coffee expert. She enjoys traveling and immersing herself in diverse food cultures. Plus, she’s the go-to person for webtoon recommendations!

Helen Le, Senior Product Designer

Helen holds a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Brand Management from Høyskolen Kristiania. She has experience as a UX designer and product manager in complex logistics processes at Oda, as well as consulting experience from Bekk.

As a product designer at Deepinsight, Helen will ensure that the technology the company develops addresses real user needs and is easy to understand and use.

Helen chose to join Deepinsight because she strongly believes that existing processes and tools in healthcare have significant potential for improvement, and that technology and product development are the keys to achieving this."Working on something meaningful and contributing to a relatively small but modern product environment has been a major reason why I wanted to join Deepinsight."

In her spare time, Helen enjoys hiking to mountain summits, both on foot and with a splitboard, as well as ice skating on frozen lakes during the winter. She’s also currently working on improving her tennis skills.

Ivar Masvie Brekkå, Senior Data Scientist

With a master’s degree in Industrial Economics from NTNU, specializing in AI and optimization, Ivar brings a strong background in data analysis and logistics. After graduating, he spent 3.5 years at Oda as a Data Scientist and Product Manager, where he worked on improving delivery logistics. Among other achievements, he contributed to developing Oda's self-built route planner algorithm.

As a Data Scientist at Deepinsight, Ivar will focus on building decision support and AI solutions to help hospitals achieve better flow in their surgical logistics. The goal is to ensure that more patients receive the help they need, when they need it. His work involves collaborating closely with hospitals to understand their challenges and determine how best to use data and AI to address them.

Ivar chose to join Deepinsight because he is passionate about bringing better digital tools to the healthcare sector."The healthcare sector’s software solutions have lagged behind, which is a pity. Our society would greatly benefit from providing high-quality digital products to healthcare, and this inspires me to contribute. Deepinsight’s fantastic team takes a modern approach to product development that I believe in, and they’re working on a product with data science at its core. Can it get better?"

In his free time, Ivar enjoys spending time with his family and hiking in the mountains on the western coast, where his parents live, as "Oslo’s mountains rarely offer a proper view." He’s also fond of sourdough baking and playing the piano.

Matias Hermanrud Fjeld, Senior Software Engineer

Matias holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Oslo. He has previously worked at Cognite and Oda.

As a software developer at Deepinsight, Matias is passionate about product development through close collaboration across disciplines. He works closely with the company’s mathematicians to integrate mathematical models into the product, ensuring they are a complete and user-friendly solution for end users.

Matias chose to join Deepinsight because it is a small company where every individual can make a big impact."The people here are an amazing combination of skilled, driven, and friendly. I also really value the flexibility and understanding for parents of young children, with a clear emphasis on family coming first. It was the perfect mix of exciting and secure, which I couldn’t say no to."

In his spare time, Matias enjoys being outdoors, whether running in any kind of weather or lighting a campfire with his family.
